Pro tip: "Beachfront" on Lipe is a spectrum — check whether the room is on the sand or behind a row of restaurants. Sunrise Beach rooms get the morning light; Sunset Beach gets the show.
Food & Nightlife: Walking Street
Walking Street is the sandy spine of the island, connecting Pattaya and Sunrise beaches. By day it's motorbike taxis and dive-shop touts; from late afternoon it fills with food stalls, massage tables, souvenir shops and bars, staying busy until midnight or later. The scene is backpacker-Thai rather than clubland: beach bars with fire shows, reggae spots, a couple of late-night dance floors, and pancake stands that never sleep.
Eating: seafood grills on the beach (whole fish, squid, prawns — pick yours from the ice), pad thai and curries from ~80–120 THB, and excellent fresh fruit shakes. Island logistics mean imported items are pricey — the local seafood is the real deal. Expect to pay 150–250 THB/day eating street-style, or 400–700 THB at sit-down restaurants.
